  1. Will a pergola provide enough shade to prevent the sun from fading furniture inside the house? (Will it allow light in but not direct light?)

    • A lot depends on your choice of top cover. Vine tops will allow more sunlight usually. However with side sunscreens this can be minimized. I am assuming you were inquiring about vine too pergolas. You could also consider pergola with adjustable fabric tops.
